1. What are the Tobacco Products Directive (TPD) and article 20 directives?

The Tobacco Product Directive (TPD) is a regulation used to regulate and supervise the manufacturing, sales, display (product design, packaging, etc.) of products and all tobacco and tobacco-related products (such as electronic cigarette products). At present, in most EU member states, electronic cigarettes are regulated and managed according to entertainment consumer products. From 2016, electronic cigarettes and related products will be subject to the regulation of Article 20 of the TPD. The Tobacco Product Directive (TPD) is ostensibly designated for the smooth operation of tobacco products in the international market. In fact, many provisions of the TPD are set to reduce the attractiveness of tobacco products and achieve a higher standard of protection for human health.

2. TPD test service

According to Article 20 of the TPD (Tobacco Product Directive) tobacco directive issued by the European Union on April 3, 2014, with reference to the French AFNOR standard and the CORESTA standard of the International Tobacco Research Cooperation Center, Shenzhen Tongzhi Testing Technology Co., Ltd. (TCT) has established internal laboratory methods, and has provided electronic cigarette manufacturers, suppliers and consumers with electronic cigarette smoke testing and cigarette oil composition testing services. The internal methods in the laboratory have passed the validation of linear evaluation, matrix recovery, detection limit and other methods, and the testing instruments and equipment meet the requirements.

3. TPD notification service

3.1 It takes about 3 weeks to register ECAS account, submit the application form for submitter ID and obtain the submitter ID

3.2 Collect the production process flow documents, the specification documents for the atomizer to add oil, the nicotine output stability test method, and the atomization test report, and use the XML tool to generate the relevant XML files

3.3 Submit the generated XML file through EU E-TRUSTEX system

3.4 Each Member State receives the notification and sends INVOICE to the applicant. The applicant pays according to INVOICE requirements and waits for the audit results
